Plastic refractory castable are made of high quality refractory aggregate mixed and kneaded with a combination of clay, water and lightweight aggregates, refractory powders, binders and additives, and they can be easily formed and installed to suit any specific shape. In the case of plastic refractories, they stay soft and can be freely shaped and reshaped at will, which can be valuable in the case of an emergency cases. They are mainly used as linings for various heating furnaces, soaking furnaces, annealing furnaces, sintering furnaces, and electric furnace roofs in the steel industryIn addition to this, they are used for walls, ceilings, bottoms or burner blocks of diverse furnaces.
The main components of plastic refractory castable are granular and powdery materials, accounting for 70% to 85% of the total. It can be made of refractory materials of various materials, and it is often classified and named according to the material. Because this unshaped refractory is mainly used in various heating furnaces that are not in direct contact with the melt, clay clinker and high-aluminum clinker are generally used. Light-weight plastic materials are usually used to prepare lightweight plastics.
