Silicon insulating brick is another name for lightweight silica brick. Silica-rich light refractories with bulk densities of 1.2 g/cm3 and a silica concentration of > 91%. The load softening temperature and refractoriness are comparable to those of ordinary silica brick. The compressive strength, slag resistance, and corrosion resistance are, however, inferior to those of regular silica brick due to the abundance of pores, while the thermal shock resistance is enhanced.

The critical particle size in lightweight silica brick when using fine silica as the raw material is typically less than 1 mm, and the percentage of particles less than 0.5 mm is more than 90%. By injecting combustible materials into the components or gas generating process, a porous structure is produced.

3.AL2O3,TIO2 etc impurity amount is under 2%.

Advantage of Insulation Silica Brick

1.Good acid erosion resistance.
2.Refractoriness 1690-1730°C.
3.Higher refractoriness under load,above 1620-1680°C.
4.Poor Thermal shock resistance,should not be used for the zone which temperature has rapid     change.
5.Poor Volume stability at high temperature,must set aside appropriate expansion joint when laying brick.
6.Generally True density is changed between 2.33-2.42g/cm3,the smaller, the better.
