Lightweight Alumina Insulation Brick is a high-efficiency thermal insulation refractory brick made from high-purity alumina powder, mullite aggregate, and foaming/additive technologies.
It features low bulk density, low thermal conductivity, excellent thermal shock resistance, and good mechanical strength, making it suitable for kiln linings, backup insulation, furnace walls, and high-temperature industrial applications.
Compared with dense refractory bricks, lightweight alumina insulation brick significantly reduces furnace weight, lowers heat storage, and improves overall energy efficiency.
Features
Low Thermal Conductivity
Outstanding insulation performance reduces heat loss.
Lightweight Structure
Bulk density typically 0.6-1.0 g/cm³, easy for installation and furnace design.
High Temperature Resistance
Working temperature up to 1350-1400°C (custom grades available).
Strong Thermal Shock Resistance
Withstands frequent heating & cooling cycles without cracking.
High Purity Alumina + Mullite Structure
Provides stable performance in various furnace atmospheres.
Accurate Dimensions & Smooth Surface
Ensures tight installation and long service life.
Lightweight alumina insulation brick is widely used in:
Heat treatment furnaces
Ceramic kilns
Glass furnaces back-up insulation
Lime kiln and rotary kiln insulation
Furnace roof and wall insulation
Aluminum melting furnace back-up layers
Steel ladle preheating furnaces
Reformers
Cracking furnaces
Boilers and hot blast stoves
Hot face and back-up insulation
Expansion joint filling
High-temperature lining design
Advantages
Reduces fuel consumption and increases furnace efficiency.
Lower heat storage → faster heating & cooling cycles.
Reduces the load on furnace structure and simplifies installation.
Good resistance against oxidation, reducing gas corrosion, and weak acids.
Maintains stable shape under working temperature.
