Nitride Bonded Silicon Carbide Brick is a high-grade refractory material with silicon carbide sand as the main raw material and silicon nitride as the binding phase. Since SiC and Si3N4 are covalent bond compounds, sintering is difficult, and they are usually prepared by reaction sintering in industrial production. Using SiC as aggregate, adding metal silicon powder, choosing reasonable particle grading, kneading system and forming process, the dried green body is fired in a special firing equipment in a nitrogen atmosphere. During the firing process, the generated Si3N4 (matrix binding phase) is off-white crystal, which can effectively combine SiC particles (aggregate) to form a spatial network structure, so that bricks have incomparable characteristics with other refractory materials.
Features of Nitride Bonded Silicon Carbide Brick
Nitride Bonded Silicon Carbide Brick not only has the characteristics of high density, high strength, good thermal shock stability, high load softening point, good thermal conductivity, high resistance value, etc., but also has excellent resistance to cryolite, aluminum fluoride, sodium fluoride and calcium fluoride, etc. Melt corrosion and oxidation resistance.
Applications of Nitride Bonded Silicon Carbide Brick
1. Building and sanitary ceramics industry. At present, in the firing of ceramic products, most of them use roller kilns to fire sanitary ceramics and wall and floor tiles, and the rollers of roller kilns are basically made of silicon nitride and silicon carbide.
2. Household ceramics industry
3. Electric porcelain and electronic ceramic industry
4. Aluminum smelting, copper, zinc and other industries
5. Steel-making and steel-rolling industry. The application of new technologies and processes for steel-making has put forward higher requirements for refractory materials used in ladles, and the lining of ladles has changed from the high-alumina bricks that dominated in the past to better corrosion resistance. The material silicon nitride bonded silicon carbide material
6. Ironmaking industry. In recent years, silicon nitride combined with silicon carbide bricks for blast furnaces has developed rapidly, and about 61% of blast furnaces abroad have adopted them, especially 68% of large blast furnaces with a hearth diameter of 12-15m.
7. Metal heat treatment industry, etc.
